I have seen lots of movies in the theater and on video but my favorite way to watch a movie is on video from the privacy of my own home. That should come to no surprise to most because well lets face it the theater posses does get a bit on the annoying side, with the noise and over priced snacks, I have thought about starting a video reviewing page on my website but opinions are like asshol*s every one has one and for the most part they all stink. So just a few words about what I think it take to make a great movie.
Plot: Can you see where the movie is going and still remember where its been? Just take a second to think about it and you will know what I mean.
Sub Plot: After the movie is over I If you can see what is going on during the show than it was NOT well placed.
Story Line: my hard and fast rule “ Is it good story telling?” If the story wasn’t relayed in a manner that was relateable than what is the point in hearing it in the first place.
Cinematography : Often over looked but when its poorly done you can tell within 30 seconds if the movie is good or crap. Jumping around from different views is not clever its just anoying.
Acting: Ok I will admit it one or two bad actors wont spoil a film for me but the entire cast is a bit much. All to often I come across a film that could have been great but the casting people should have been shot on sight for their pore casting of unbelievable characters.
Special Effects: I just have to say some thing abut this! I you remove all the special effects and the movie stinks on ice than it wasn’t much of a movie to start with! On the other hand if you tell that something is missing but arenot sure what it is than that is effects at its highest form. They should complement the file not become the film.
As you can see I will not be reviewing movies here at any time in the near future.
